“Smart Cities are becoming increasingly interconnected environments linking public administrations, service providers, devices, applications, data and citizens, trying to optimise city services responding to the needs for a cleaner, safer, more efficient and more sustainable city ecosystem. This increased interconnectedness and optimisation of services also entails the collection and processing of considerable amounts of personal data, thereby creating risks for citizens’ privacy.
