ENISA, the EU’s always excellent cybersecurity watchdog, published “Threat Landscape of 5G Networks”, a report on threats relating to 5G networks.
The report presents an overview of the challenges in the security of 5G networks. It also presents a comprehensive generic 5G architecture, the identification of key assets, the assessment of threats affecting 5G (threat taxonomy), the identification of asset exposure (threats – assets mapping) and an initial assessment of threat agent motives.
I don’t fully agree with the report’s mapping of relevance of asset groups to the maintenance of CIA properties, but, as the authors state “…the asset mapping is an ongoing task that will need some time to reach a mature stage.”
Overall, this is the best and most comprehensive such report I’ve seen in the industry so far.
